It’s time for an almighty all-electric drag race!

We’ve got our hands on three of the quickest, most powerful EVs money can buy – the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, the Tesla Model S Plaid, and the Audi RS e-tron GT Performance, and we’re about to see which is quickest over the quarter mile!

So let’s check out the stats. Starting with the Porsche, it’s powered by two electric motors, and when it’s in launch control mode these can deliver 1,034hp and 1,240Nm of torque. This power is sent to all four wheels, and the car weighs in at 2,365kg. As new, the Porsche costs around £186,000.

Similarly to the Porsche, the Audi can only deliver its top performance in Launch Control mode, with its two motors combining to produce 925hp and 1,027Nm. It’s also equipped with four wheel drive, and it tips the scales at 2,395kg. If you’re looking to pick one of these up new, it will cost around £144,000.

Then finally we have the Tesla. It’s the only car here with three electric motors, and they combine to produce 1,020hp and 1,420Nm, which is subsequently sent to all four wheels. Not only is the Tesla the lightest car here, but it’s also the cheapest, coming in at 2,190kg and £115,000 respectively.

The Plaid has come out on top in so many drag races in the past, so does either the Porsche or the Audi stand a chance? There’s only one way to find out for sure… LET’S RACE!
