Were you hoping for an all-new RAM HD lineup? I have to admit, so was I. Instead RAM decided on a more modest refresh to their biggest and baddest trucks focused on more diesel power and smoother towing with a new 8-speed automatic and grafting in tech from the RAM 1500. The result is that the 2025 RAM is fully modern under the hood, but a little less modern elsewhere, depending on what you’re after that is. It still has the biggest cab in the segment, the only Cummins inline 6 engine, but the seats could use some love. On the other hand, it is the first truck to get ZF’s newest and heavy-dutiest 8-speed auto.
