Rivian’s OG R1T got enough changes for 2025 that I’m surprised they didn’t call it an R1T2, or perhaps and R2D2? Anyway, there are enough changes to the R1T to almost qualify it as a new truck. We get re-worked batteries, new motors, a significant reduction in wiring and complexity, better software, and the coolest headlights in N. America. Yep, these are the first "Active Matrix" headlamps approved for sale in the USA! Are they the best Matrix lamps in the world? No, but they are the only game in town. The R1T is also the only game in town if you want an electric mid-sized pickup truck… Well, I suppose that also depends on how you consider the Tesla Cybertruck, which isn’t exactly full-sized either. This sticky situation and all the required caveats and explanations are why this video was supposed to be short, but ended up a 2-parter. Oops.
