2025 Tesla Model Y ‘Juniper’ First Look – Everything You Need to Know

From InsideEVs.

The updated 2025 Tesla Model Y’s most obvious change is its new face. Instead of two headlights, you get a sleek horizontal light bar across the front, much like the Tesla Cybertruck, or the upcoming Tesla Cybercab.

Below the light bar is a completely new front fascia that Tesla says is more aerodynamic than the old Model Y. And the front bumper gets a new camera, with an integrated washer and heating functions to prevent fogging when it’s cold out.

Same story out back: a much more “Cyber”-looking rear light bar. Oh, and the tailgate, spoiler, and rear fascia are all new—and also more aerodynamic.

Believe it or not, the 2025 Tesla Model Y’s size is a little different compared to the original model: it’s now almost two inches longer, but just a little bit narrower overall.

The best 2025 Model Y upgrade is on the inside, as the Juniper has higher-quality materials, better build quality and lighter components for efficiency.

The 2025 Model Y is quieter, too with 20% less wind noise and road noise than before. The 2025 Model Y’s front seats are now ventilated, while aluminum accents and ambient lighting make for a more pleasant experience.

Rear passengers get a new 8-inch touchscreen with climate controls and entertainment functions, and the seats are roomier and softer than before.

And then there’s the tech: better WiFi and cellular performance for much faster download speeds, better streaming video quality, and big performance improvements to the Tesla smartphone app.

So what’s the range like? For now Tesla’s only telling us about the launch car, the Long-Range All-Wheel-Drive Model. In European spec, The 2025 Model Y has 568 kilometers of range, or 354 miles—up from 533 kilometers or 331 miles on the old car.

We won’t know the official U.S. range estimates for a while, but it does seem like these improvements make the Model Y go further. We do know the 2025 Model Y’s 0-60 is 4.3 seconds, so it won’t be slow.

The Model Y Juniper is expected to hit China and Europe this spring, and a U.S. launch is TBD, but it should be later this year.
