2027 Lucid Gravity | The Electric Wagon That Boasts Insane 0-60s & Minivan Level Cargo Hauling

From Alex on Autos.

With the Tesla Model X now discontinued, 16 different three-row EVs are fighting over its old customers for 2027, but the 2027 Lucid Gravity is the one actually taking Tesla’s old crown: leading the segment in range, charging speed, and efficiency, the three things Tesla used to dominate. Starting at $79,900 (climbing past $130,000 fully loaded), the Gravity is positioned less against mainstream three-rows like the Kia EV9 or Hyundai Ioniq 9 and more against gas-powered luxury SUVs like the BMW X7 and Mercedes GLS. The base model packs 560 horsepower and 337 miles of range from a smaller, more efficient 89 kWh battery, while the Grand Touring jumps to 828 horsepower and 450 miles. On the charging front, this thing can add 200 miles of range in about 10 minutes at the right V4 station, and it’ll hit 0-60 in 3.9 seconds while earning an A-grade handling score, the best-driving three-row EV we’ve tested, full stop.

In this full review we cover the controversial "electric station wagon" styling and the front trunk’s surprisingly useful padded surface, the powertrain and battery strategy behind Lucid’s range and charging lead, the genuinely clever folding second-row seat and minivan-style third row that unlock 112 cubic feet of total cargo space, a complete interior tour covering materials, the two-screen dashboard, and real Apple CarPlay support, instrumented acceleration and braking, ride quality and handling on both pavement and gravel, cabin noise, real-world efficiency and range, and a deep competitive breakdown against the Cadillac Vistiq, Escalade IQ, Rivian R1S, and the soon-to-be-refreshed Volvo EX90, closing with our honest take on who this three-row luxury EV is really for.
