Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, Cyber Truck the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot production happens in 2025!
Today we found out Tesla produced over 362,000 vehicles and delivered more than 336,000 worldwide, while also installing a record 10.4 Gwh of energy storage across the globe. The lower-than-expected production and deliveries was centrally caused by a global changeover from the old to the new Model Y at four factories, in three countries, including changing over and localizing three separate supply chains.
Tesla mentions several weeks’ worth of Model Y production was lost due to this changeover, which is approximately 25,000 vehicles each week of down time. However, Tesla is now in great shape for a truly monstrous 2nd quarter as production continues rapidly ramping and other major events and services are announced!

In the video introduction, I also discuss the arrival and installation of the Megapacks for the new Megapack site just to the south of the electrical switchyard. As soon as the Megapacks arrive on the trailer trucks, they are lined up ion queue to be attached to a crane and then lifted directly into position on the already installed beam mounts.
Nearby the Megapack site, crews continue to prepare the soil for construction by filling in the old pond, flattening the old hills and getting this section graded for construction to begin. The purpose of all this work is to double the electrical switchyard in size and capacity, essentially mirroring the three installed bays and equipment already in place.
I also discuss the new Welcome Center construction site on the west side of the main highway near Tesla Road. Crews here continue to level out the overall construction site grade, removing valleys and trees and then filling them with dirt that is then compacted.
So far, the site is taking on the shape of a square graded section, but it is possible it will be extended further west and elongating the overall site. I still do not have permits or architectural drawings of what this center may look like, but I’m hoping we will get additional clues soon.
Plenty more to discuss in the main video. Congratulations to Tesla for successfully changing over to the new Model Y at four factories and three countries nearly simultaneously and for doing so well during this period with production and deliveries! It takes a lot of great teamwork to overcome the obstacles this entailed, and I want to say at least some of us recognize the effort it took!
