On the 5th Day of Boltmas, I wanted to share a story about the time I had to drive 500 miles through an atmospheric river. This was January 2020, and California had finally started to see a reasonable build out of Electrify America stations as well as a number of faster than 50 kW chargers from other charging providers. There were still, however, major gaps in the coverage, and it was still difficult to make most trips without falling back on at least one 50 kW charging station.
