New Model Ys, 2nd Megapack work, big DIE shop deliveries too! 31 Jan 2025 Giga Texas Update(07:35AM)

From Joe Tegtmeyer.

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, Cyber Truck the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot production happens in 2025!

What a great day to fly at Giga Texas today with beautiful skies, light winds, and a lot of great things to see.

One of the best things today was the new Model Y’s driving around the site. I saw one over at the west End of Line facility at the superchargers. I also saw many being driven around the site today, so that is a definite indication that the production ramp is well underway.

In addition, I saw a number of paint stands of the north end of the factory by the paint shop for the new Model Y bumpers, both front and rear. One of the details that you can see today are the stands for all three pieces of the new rear bumper. This new design allows for reduced repair costs by not having to replace the entire bumper, only the section that is damaged.

In the video introduction, I talk an about the Cybertunnel becoming a fully operational and the new official video that Tesla put out recently. In addition, I talk about the use of a Full Self Driving now at the factories to move the vehicles to the outbound lot without humans.

This autonomous driving capability is being rolled out to all Tesla factories, including Giga Texas very soon. This is going to be a great increase to the production efficiency, lowing cost, and overall, just making the entire process a lot easier to manage and maintain by Tesla

A few other highlights today:

At the electrical switchyard, we see more assembly of the electrical components near the third transformer in the main switch yard itself. Just to the south, the clearing has now had all screw-type piers installed, the plate tops to the screw type piers are also installed and almost all of the steel beams have been welded to these plates. We see some continued trenching for electrical conduit throughout the entire section.

Further to the north at the old batch plant, we see that not only has the concrete apron been completed, but they’ve also arranged all the concrete blocks we saw being delivered on my previous video into the bins that will have the materials that go into the concrete mixture. These have been installed on the east side.

Additionally, the truck washout ramps have their wooden forms completed and also rebar installation is underway. Soon, we should concrete pours for these washout racks, located right next to the lined pond.

Finally, one of the things I noticed today has to do with the concrete being poured via a pump truck into the third floor of the west side of General Assembly. This is in an area that has had the windows removed and a kind of a temporary blank panel installed.

I believe this is for additional production line adjustments to increase manufacturing capability and is for additional production line expansion to support a future products.

There’s a lot more to see in the video today and talk about across the entire site so make sure you watch the entire video! As always, thank you very much for your support and for watching along.
