2025 Polestar 3 Review | Channeling Their Inner Porsche?

From Alex on Autos.

Here’s the thing about the Polestar 3. It may be heavy, it may be big, but it drives so well that you might never notice. That shouldn’t surprise too much since Polestar was pretty clear that they were benchmarking Porsche SUVs when designing and tuning the preemptive alternative to the upcoming Cayenne EV. Don’t get me wrong, the 3 isn’t perfect. Our tester had some annoying software bugs (explanations in the video), and the Volvo-based safety tech can be a little overprotective (thankfully, it can be disabled). On the other hand, the torque vectoring rear axle is a stroke of genius, grip levels are class-leading, the 60-0 braking score of 103 feet is nothing short of shocking, and the 0-60 time has been significantly improved since Polestar launched the 3 in Spain just a few months ago. Range? That could be better, but given the un-Porsche like price tag I think I can forgive it. Now… That price is high, don’t misunderstand me, but with a starting MSRP of $67,500 for a RWD model and $73,400 if you want AWD and that trick rear axe… All it’s missing is the tax credit, and that’s a pity since it’s built right here in the USA.
