Arcfox T1 first drive review | Can a $34,990 EV really be ‘premium’?

From EVs & Beyond.

Arcfox has arrived in New Zealand, and its first model makes a bold claim. The T1 is pitched as a premium electric SUV, but at $34,990 +ORC on launch offer ($36,990 RRP), it lands among the cheapest EVs on the market. We take a look around BAIC’s new brand entry and drive it through Auckland to find out where the premium claim holds up, and where it doesn’t.

The numbers: 42.3kWh LFP battery, 310km+ WLTP range, 70kW/176Nm front motor, 80kW DC charging, V2L and V2V capability, and a 2,770mm wheelbase that delivers midsize-SUV rear legroom in a 4.3-metre car. No ANCAP rating, no Android Auto, no app, and one of the best-behaved lane keeping systems we’ve tried at any price.
