From EVs & Beyond.
Chery brought six electric vehicles across four badges to Everything Electric Sydney, and most of them are headed for New Zealand. We walked the stand to see what’s coming, what’s confirmed and what’s still a maybe.
On the stand: the Jaecoo J5 EV, already on sale in NZ from $42,990. The Lepas L6 and L4, the first two models from Chery’s new export brand, both on a 65kWh battery with 160kW/275Nm, the L6 claiming 440km WLTP and the L4 450km. Lepas is confirmed for NZ with timing and pricing to come. The Chery E5, a facelifted and rebadged Omoda E5 with 61kWh, 155kW/288Nm and 430km WLTP. The iCaur V25, the Land Rover-flavoured off-roader confirmed for NZ in the second half of 2027, with a range-extender version and a full EV that’s expected to come here first. And the Omoda 4 EV, 65kWh, 160kW/275Nm, about 470km WLTP and a 402-litre boot, due in Australia in the first half of 2027.
The Chery Stockman diesel plug-in hybrid ute was on the stand too. It has its own video, linked above and in the comments.
