Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, Cyber Truck the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot production happens in 2025!
I got a very late start due to cold temperatures and strong winds. I was fortunate to capture more Cybercab testing along the west side of General Assembly today and a Cybertruck emerging and then backing up into the Cybertunnel on the west side. The covering structure of the Cybertunnel is not quite completed (I think another week or so), but clearly, they are driving Cybertrucks through the tunnel.

In the video introduction, I talk about the Cybercab Testing and the Cybertunnel and my upcoming trip to Starbase for Starship flight 7 and while I’m on my way there, I plan on stopping at the Tesla Lithium plant near Corpus Christi to get an update on their progress.
Also, I discuss a new video I made that discusses many of the significant changes for Starship Flight 7 and the second generation of the Starship along with a more in-depth, but still top-level discussion of the aerodynamics of reentry and how the ship it controlled, the basic forces involved, and the heat flux involved at high altitudes, high velocities and the earth’s atmosphere.
Some additional highlights to look for today:
The roof repairs over the 4680 section of the factory continue today, with workers preparing more of the weatherproof membrane seams on the north end of the repair section. In addition, near this area on the ground level, the new employee entry, stairs and accessibility ramps is nearing completion, while the former receiving door area has been enclosed with a temporary plastic wall to most likely keep the cold temperatures out of the factory until the permanent doors are installed.
Production of the Model Ys (current version, not the refresh) continued at a pace that is consistent with what I saw last year in the October and November time periods. Production of the Cybertruck also seems to be continuing at about the same rate as it was achieving in those timeframes as well.
Work at the electrical switchyard expansion continues, with workers entering into the underground vault under the three control trailers while other crews are busy installing more screw-type piers on the graded area to the south.
