Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, Cyber Truck the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot production happens in 2025!
Super cold day and I delayed my normal flight time a few hours to try and get the temperatures up a little, so I started flying at about 36 F (~1 C) and moderate winds, so wind-chill was in the 20s F (-4 C). Otherwise, it was an amazing day to fly with clear blue skies, great visibility and sun at a high angle!

In the video interaction, I discuss a few interesting things I observed today, starting with many Cybertrucks exiting the Cybertunnel on the west side of the highway! This tunnel is now fully operational and with new construction at the factory which removed the temporary exit point, this is now the primary way for Cybertrucks to exit the factory and make their way to the west End-of-Line facility and then outbound lot.
I also mention the resumed Model Y production, which remains the older generation and not the new refresh that is coming out of Giga Shanghai and Giga Berlin. How much longer until we see the new Model Y? I’m not sure but hopefully soon!
I discuss the caissons under construction at the southwest side near the south bridge and speculate more about the potential purpose of these based on inputs by Patreon Dessie Doolan and YouTube viewer David … it is possible this is related to future Tunneling operations and if so, we might see another Caisson being constructed near the base of the flag poles where fencing has been erected.
That is because a tunnel running in this location from the factory to the W EOL for Model Y’s would likely need one as well, similar to what we saw for the first tunnel. Again, this is still speculation at this point, but I give you great views of the work underway.
Finally, I remind viewers that 1-week from today is the 4th quarter and 2024 financial results meeting to be held at Giga Texas on 29 January at 16:30 PM CST (2230 UTC). This is a highly anticipated meeting to see how margins and revenue did for last year, including energy storage and other aspects of Tesla’s growing portfolio of products and may give us insights into what we can expect here at Giga Texas in the first half of the year.
I narrate the video to provide additional information and discuss some key areas around the factory we get to see today, so make sure you watch the full video for more!
