A few weeks ago, Ford CEO Jim Farley surprised everyone by announcing during a Thursday evening Twitter spaces session with Tesla CEO Elon Musk that Ford would be adopting the North American Charging Standard (NACS – aka Tesla’s Supercharger inlet design) on all future models from 2025 model year onwards.

Today, we’re examining what we know about the deal, what we don’t yet know, and what we think the future of CCS on Ford vehicles will look like based on the limited information available to us, what we have heard in the rumor department, and what makes good business sense overall.
