Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, Cyber Truck the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot production happens in 2025!
Beautiful day to fly today and since it is the President’s Day holiday and not much is going on, I decided to do another Grand Tour trip around the site, this time going much farther south than I normally do to show what is happening along SH-130 near the intersection of highway 71 and where connections might be related to the water intercept system under construction around Giga Texas.

Because this is the end of a long weekend, and final preparation for the Model Y production lines are underway to begin making the new Model Y in larger numbers, we don’t see many new cars (including Cybertrucks) at the outbound lot today. Indeed, the parking lots were almost empty as can be expected for a holiday, but I did see some earthwork underway at the far southwest corner, the area where the old concrete batch plant was located and a few other smaller locations.
Speaking of the old concrete batch plant site, all traces of the old plant are now gone except for a few "islands" of dirt where the existing power poles and wires are still connected. Once the power is shut off, I expect screws to rapidly remove these poles and wires as they are not needed for the new construction. Also, the lined pond is now completely gone, with only the large group of water trailers showing where the pond used to be.
Overall, the graded areas are expanding throughout this northern site, with an overall lower grade and with the last remaining ponds and kills being actively removed via large earthwork vehicles. The cleared site is a substantial area, so the construction and new structures should be impressive and take most of the rest of 2025 to complete.
I hope you enjoy this rare opportunity to tour around the larger site and I hope this pouts into context the amount of space Tesla can use, if they wish, to expand production facilities many times more than what is already in place. Certainly, there are many, many more years of changed ahead of this site.
