I bought a 2023 Tesla Model Y Long Range AWD for under $25K and drove it back from California to North Carolina — so yeah, this thing now has 111,000 miles on it and I’ve already put 2,554 miles on it since purchase. In this video I give a full intro/tour, show the first time Bethany’s mom plugs it into a Supercharger, and talk about what surprised me about a high-mileage HW4 Model Y.
I walk through the car: 20" induction wheels, white interior, missing tunnel cover, 3D mats, Starlink Mini in the hatch, a CAN server I hooked up for extra data, and 3W liners that cleaned up nicely. Energy numbers: roughly 306 Wh/mi average and only about 1 MWh of fast charging history (almost all AC charging) — this car was mostly a desert commuter.
