Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and in 2025, the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot!
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! I was lucky enough to catch many Cybercabs testing around the site today, a large group of about 60 Cybertrucks on the east side old testing lot, and new Model Y’s coming out of the factory in what should be a week of noticeable bump up in the production rates.

In the video introduction, I show some of the Cybercab testing, but honestly there was so much I ended up creating short video clips of the Cybercab testing and released these separately from the main video.
Despite this, you will see several Cybercabs throughout the main video as it is impossible to not capture them, especially near the main factory. I did hear there is some kind of change in operations at the multi-level parking garage (where such of the Cybercab & Robotaxi preparation work has been underway for several months), but I was unable to capture any noticeable changes from the drone views.
I also discuss the Central Campus Support Facilities construction project to the north side, where ground preparation (grading & auger piles) continues to transform the old and hilly concrete batch plant complex into a site suitable for major construction. We can now see the outline of the expected perimeter road around the main graded site for the three facilities and two 5-million-gallon water tanks, and the augers have been busy preparing the ground for footing rebar cages, using groupings of 9 piles where each column of the new facilities will be installed.
Speaking of rebar footing cages, crews were busy making two types of rebar cages for the columns, one just a simple square cage with a flat top and others that have rebar top cages where extended column bases will extend above the grade. Both kinds of footing cages were used in other construction projects here, so that is not completely unusual.
A few other highlights today include work on the new Megapack site just south of the electrical switchyard. The four rectangular concrete slabs on the north end of the Megapacks have been poured and more work on the extensive count pipes and risers continues near these slabs. It appears all transformers have been placed now, with cable trays running down the middle and connecting each transformer.
I suspect the megapacks will be arrayed on either side of the transformers on the steel beams mounted on the screw-type piers. Farther south, one Megapack has been delivered, coved in white plastic with the customary markings along the top of the packaging.
On the east side of the electrical switchyard, crews continue some earthwork and perhaps are getting ready to fill in the last remaining pond or large depression under where the switchyard expansion is to take place in the future. Once completed, the electrical switchyard will be double the current capacity and should be large enough to support the main factory, Cortex 1.0 and Cortex 2.0.
