Tesla JUST Clarified The Rumor Regarding Model 3 Refresh Production

From Torque News.

We just got some clarification on the new Tesla Model 3, which is known as Project Highland. Tesla China spread shed some light on the status of the refreshed Model 3 production and reportedly denied rumors that the EV maker will be starting production of the newly refreshed Tesla Model 3 "Project Highland" in Shanghai, China, on June 1. However, the details related to the news are slim.

The details surrounding Project Highland are sparse, but various filings and sightings of updated Model 3 vehicles in camouflage suggest that the project is well underway. It’s worth noting that Tesla has a history of being tight-lipped about its future plans, with the company preferring to make surprise announcements rather than giving concrete details beforehand. Despite this, it’s clear that Tesla is always working on improving its vehicles, with updates and improvements happening continually, rather than in large refresh cycles.

The refreshed Model 3 is rumored to have a new front end, among other design adjustments. While Tesla has not confirmed this, various third-party sources have indicated that the updated Model 3 vehicles seen in the wild are Alpha prototypes. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has also confirmed that the company is working on infotainment updates and features related to its self-driving plans, which will be coming later this year. These updates are expected to make Tesla’s vehicles even more advanced than they already are.
