This Is NOT a Price War, It’s Actually MUCH Better!

From The Arkansas eTraveler.

Two weeks ago, five Walmart EV Charging stations near me dropped their overnight rate from $.32/kWh to $.26. I keep a record of every price at every station this network has opened since October of 2024, and a change like that almost never happens. So I went looking for the rest of them.

InsideEVs asked whether Walmart EV Charging and IONNA are starting an EV fast charging price war. It is the right question, and their headline includes a question mark for a reason. I checked all 108 open Walmart locations against two years of my own pricing records, then against the national numbers from Paren and DCFC Tracker.

We are not in a price war. What is actually happening is better for you than a price war would be.

A price war needs three things: somebody cuts a price they were already charging, somebody else answers, and it happens somewhere both of them operate. In this video I test all three against the record, and then show you the pricing ladder that Walmart and IONNA have quietly built underneath every other network in the country.
