A few years back Volvo cooked up their most efficient gasoline drivetrain ever. It merges a 1.5L three-cylinder turbo engine with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and an 80 HP motor to deliver 211 or 257 Horsepower and Lexus hybrid like fuel economy. As a bonus, it also gives you 25 (ish) miles of electric range when you can top up. Sadly it’s never been sold in America, and even sadder: Volvo killed it in Europe as well.
