Mercedes-Benz has quickly pushed out a range of different electric vehicles in the last few years, from its oh-so-expensive EQS and sibling EQS SUV through to its more bank-balance friendly EQA and EQB.

Earlier this year, we put the EQE through its paces, Merc’s E-class EV. And now we’re getting our hands on its SUV sibling, the EQE SUV. But this particular EQE isn’t just a regular EQE – it’s the range-topping AMG EQE SUV. And at well in excess of $100,000, it’s far from a car most can afford (or even aspire to afford).

But can it take names when it comes to other high-end electric SUVS, like the Tesla Model X? We think it can.
