The ultimate question you have to ask yourself if you’re cross-shopping the Buick against a mainstream or luxury alternative is: what’s the badge worth? If the answer is: $9,000+, then you’d be better off with the Lexus TX. If, on the other hand, you’d like to pocket the 9K and go on vacation instead, the Buick Enclave is the family-hauling luxo-barge for you! With considerably more room inside than the MDX or XC90 (and soon an 8-seat option), the Enclave’s only major downside is the engine. It’s not the lack of power, almost 330 HP is plenty, it’s the gruff nature of the 4-cylinder turbo that seems at odds with the premium mission… But then again, there’s that price tag.
