2025 Chevrolet Equinox First Drive | The Bigger, Better Equinox

From Alex on Autos.

Chevy’s new Equinox is a solid small SUV with plenty of room, big screens, a right-sized price tag and a big back seat. There’s just only one problem: It’s kind of slow…How slow? Think Nissan Rogue slow at around 8.5-9 seconds 0-60. Part of that could be the CVT found in the FWD model, but most of the issue is the fact that 175 horsepower is all you get no matter what option box you select. Not a fan of CVTs? Don’t worry, unlike the Rogue, CR-V, Outlander, and others, you have an option: select AWD and you get an 8-speed automatic and more torque.
