Mazda’s latest CX-50 is a hybrid in more ways than one. For 2025, Mazda finally delivered on its promise of merging a Toyota hybrid system into their popular CX-50 crossover. The unexpected part of this is that Mazda didn’t really alter the hybrid drivetrain at all, it’s nearly identical to the 2.5L hybrid in the 2025 RAV4 with the same power outputs, same rear motor, and very similar fuel economy. Does this make the CX-50 the one to beat? Let’s find out!
