What a great day to fly at Giga Texas today! Clear Blue Skies, later in the morning lighting and light winds! What the conditions allowed were great views of progress in many areas around the site!

In the video introduction, I briefly cover my recent trip to the Bastrop, TX location where the Boring Company, SpaceX Starlink factory, the Boring Bodega and the new X Hq building are all growing at an amazing pace! One of the key parts of this short introduction was my views of the Boring Company site where the road surface panels for the Giga Texas boring tunnel have been remanufactured and tested to ensure they did not crack like the original ones did. In the drone flight today, I was able to see many more of these had been transported from the Bastrop site to Giga Texas, so we should start seeing these installed soon!

I also talk about my recent trip to the Aalo Atomics Grand Opening event. This is an innovative and ambitious new company whose goal is to mass manufacture here in Austin miniature, modular and mobile nuclear power plants in the 10 MWe class, at least for their first iteration. Energy use is growing and is projected to continue to grow at an exponential rate in the next few decades, and one of the biggest user of this electricity will be AI Datacenters like the Cortex Center being installed in the south end of Giga Texas.

Some additional and significant items to look for today include:

The Boring Company crews have been busy at the entrance of the tunnel on the W side, grading out a sloped dirt ramp into the opening at the level where the new road surface panels should be installed. This also covers the electrical conduit that was just completed, connecting to the pipes at the bottom of the tunnel and extending the length all the way to the south extension opening.

On the south end of the extension, the three tunnels are getting final details installed at the exits, including doors. the grading now covers over the tunnel roofs, with Geotextile membranes, fill dirt and now a gravel mix. This appears to be the final prep for a roadway along this part of the terraced south end. Near the Cyberpond, final grade prep is also underway, and the middle level will eventually have concrete walkways.

At the SE cooling plant, crews were busy installing the 5th (of 6) riser pipe on the west side, while other crews were busy on the ground floor installing and testing electrical systems and pipes. On the south end of the cooling plant, cleanout pipes and pumps were still attached finishing the process to clean out the cooling pipes to allow for operation soon.

At the east side of the casting machine section, two more large, cubed ventilation systems were delivered and prepared for lifting by crane onto the top of the steel structure, matching the one that was installed recently. More pipes and pipe connection items were assembled onto the structure too. Further north, the concrete apron in front of the receiving doors and bridge crane rails for the Giga Press Dies has been crosscut now, while another section is being prepared for the final concrete pour.

The work at the electrical switchyard continues with the slab and catch basin for the third transformer. the concrete for the center raised platform has been poured and crews were beginning the process of removing the wooden forms. Just to the north, footings for more of the steel mounts for other electrical components and wiring were completed while farther north, more excavations were underway to add more footings.
