BREAKING: Tesla Gets Retroactive Full EV Tax Credits?!?!

Tesla updated their website just a few days ago to reflect changes in their lineup eligibility for the full EV tax credits. As of this week, Tesla started to communicate that ALL trims of the Tesla Model 3 would be eligible for the full $7,500 EV tax credit.

Previously the Model 3 RWD and Model 3 LR were only eligible for half of the EV tax credit, or $3,750. While we did see Model Y and Model 3 deliveries to Canada shift from Fremont over to China, it was clear Tesla was doing something to their supply chain.

Although we do not know all of the details in what supply chain shifts Tesla ultimately made, they are now able to claim the full tax credit for the Model 3 RWD and Model 3 LR. As a matter of fact, all trims of both the Model Y and Model 3 qualify for the full $7,500 EV Tax Credit.

Although this is great news all in itself, THERES MORE!!!!

The IRS/EPA have officially updated fueleconomy.gov to reflect the change in EV Tax Credit eligibility and now show $7,500 for all Model Y and Model 3’s. But, when you look at vehicles purchased earlier this year, that also now shows $7,500.

That means that anyone who purchased a Model 3 RWD or Model 3 LR between January and June would have only qualified for $3,750, but now will automatically be upgraded to the full $7,500.

Given the deals Tesla was offering at the beginning of the year on Model 3’s, and the deals they are offering now on existing inventory cars, the Tesla Model 3 is one of the best value cars you can buy today when factoring the EV Tax Credit.

This huge change will have significant impact to the EV industry as a whole. The cheapest Tesla just became even cheaper and in some locations, a Tesla Model 3 can be had for UNDER $30k.
