Cooling Fans Work, Unpacking Huge equipment & Glass Install! 23 Oct 2024 Giga Texas Update (07:35AM)

From Joe Tegtmeyer.

Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, and Cyber Truck production happens and soon, the Next Generation Car!

Great morning to fly today and several interesting developments

In the video introduction, I discuss the north casting management and sorting lots that now are fully operational and filled with castings and casting rack systems. This covers the Cybertruck and Model Y castings and in addition to this lot, we see more marked spaces and labels for castings along the north and eat berms near the casting machine section.

The cooling plant for the Cortex Supercomputer has two of the fans operational during my drone flight today, either indicating testing of possibly some initial operation of the Cortex Computer clusters. The big water manifold that connects the plant to the south extension does not seem connected, so this may simply be a test, but nevertheless, this is a good sign!

I talk about a new video I made where I cover the purchase of a Non-Foundation Cybertruck and how important it was to the new owner to have the transfer of FSD to the Cybertruck now an option and how this completely changed his outlook on buying his first Cybertruck and third Tesla. We also compare his new Non-Foundation Series Cybertruck with my Foundation Series version to see what the differences are and to see if he has any regrets passing on the Foundation version for his Non-Foundation truck. Link to my full video is included below in the sources section of this description and I hope you find this discussion, comparison and information helpful!

I also talk about the new Tesla policy that recently changed allowing FSD transfer to the Cybertruck, at least through the end of this quarter. How does this work and is it worth doing so?

Finally, I remind the viewer of the Tesla 3rd quarter Financial results meeting to be held later today from Giga Texas and how to be able to live stream this important event.

A few other highlights from today:

Boring Company crews continue to move road panels into the tunnel on the west side and build out the drivable surface from the east to the west, while crews were working on the conduits near the west tunnel entrance. Nearby, we see the natural gas pipeline installation is virtually completed and all trenches filled back in while most of the vehicles and equipment associates with the pipeline installation have left the site.

On the west material staging lot, crews were busy unpacking several of the white and blue wrapped large equipment items that have been stored here for about a year. This is great to see as we may begin to get better clues as to what this equipment is and where in the factory this will be installed!

At the west side of the south extension, glazing crews were busy installing more of the large glass panels using the lifting jig with suction cups. The frame mounts have been installed along the perimeter grade beam and the 2nd floor beam so the work to install the glass on this side of the building should go quickly. Once this side is completed, crews will relocate to the east side to complete that installation.
