Electric Vehicle Batteries degrade over time but by how much, and how do different brands compare?
It’s work in progress but I’ve been gathering the results of over 300 Electric Vehicle Battery tests (so far!) with as high a mileage as possible into a spreadsheet which means we can compare how their HV drive batteries degrade as mileage increases. This means a reduction in range, but actually no change in efficiency or performance which would impact combustion vehicles over time.
We can also see how Tesla LFP batteries compare to non-LFP architecture.
Consider though that there are lot of variable in battery tests. These are all from Aviloo quick flash tests but results from different cars can vary because some will for example use energy buffers within their calculations and some will not.. so consider that this really is not always going to be a direct comparison, however for now it’s a good basis to start from…!
