EV Charging Hubs in North America | ROVE, Revel, BP Gigahubs & More!

From Plug and Play EV.

As electric vehicle adoption grows across the United States and Canada, vendors and site hosts are starting to rethink EV charging. Turns out, the dark and dingy back end of a strip mall parking lot isn’t everyone’s idea of a pleasant refueling experience…

Enter, charging hubs. Or, at least, dedicated charging locations with sufficient size, space, and (hopefully) surrounding amenities to make charging stops easier.

But what really qualifies as a charging hub? This video looks at a variety of DCFC locations across the continent that could qualify, depending on what the discerning EV driver wants to see.

From the relaxing metro concepts of ROVE and an Electrify America flagship in California to sprawling Gigahubs and hybrid sites on the East Coast, we run through the kind of stops we’re seeing and ask a simple question: what would you need to consider a site an EV "charging hub"?

Major thanks to friend of the channel Mike Mahan for the ROVE tour and to Walter at @thenetworkarchitectchannel for a heads up on the Boston bp pulse Gigahub location we visit. Several related videos mentioned in this one for your viewing pleasure:
