OK, there’s more to the 2025 than just the J3400/NACS port, there’s also this new XRT trim that Hyundai brought along for us to look at. Don’t think of it as a competitor to the upcoming Rivian R2 or R3, but it is a nod to the expansion of EVs from road-warrior only to something designed for country dwelling. Also: it gets a rear wiper AND a tax credit. Yep, the 2025 Ioniq 5 will be built in the USA which should net it 1/2 the tax credit at that start and the full $7500 when full battery production moves to Georgia a little later in 2025.
