A Tesla patent application was recently published that describes using a “super-fibrillized binder” during dry electrode manufacturing, and interestingly it appears to be a copy paste from a patent that Maxwell Technologies applied for back in 2017 that has since been granted.
Nonetheless, a quick look at the technology described here is worth examining as it brings up some interesting details about the process and I take this as a good sign that the DBE processes is working.
