Gigafactory Texas! This is where Model Y’s, Cyber Truck the Next Generation Car(s), Cybercab & the Optimus Robot production happens in 2025!
Fog, mist & low clouds greeting me on arrival at Giga Texas today, so I ended up delaying my drone flight for a few hours to let it clear enough to get sufficient visibility to see what was going on, and in the end, this delay worked out well as I saw one of the busiest days of production (both the current Model Y and the Cybertrucks) that I’ve seen in several months.
There was a steady stream of vehicles departing the factory, driving over to the west End-of-Line (EOL) facility and then to the outbound lot for shipping. shuttle buses then immediately picked up the drivers and took them back to the factory where a new batch of cars was waiting for transport!

I did notice these new vehicles were using the new road that passes right by the west Cybertunnel exit, and this is yet another indication the tunnel and this part of the west support facility is almost ready for full operational use!
The Cybertunnel itself was getting more stainless-steel cladding installed not eh Cybertruck-inspired covering structure and the front lights that mimic the Cybertruck Daytime Running Lights were being tested. These make the covering look much more like an actual Cybertruck and appeared to pulsate during the time I was overhead. Very neat touch to the new Cybertunnel!
At the Electrical switchyard, we see more screw-type piers have been delivered to the south graded section, so it appears many more will be installed before we see what is going to be installed here. This is somewhat different to the nearby Megapack site as these piers were only used on the north section of that installation. In the switchyard itself, more steel assemblies have been erected just south of the new third transformer while a soil test rig was at work nearby, just outside the fence.
Finally, I noticed the chiller plant at the west side of the Cathode facility was fully operational this morning, with many of the vaporizers covered with ice with low clouds streaming off from their bases. The plastic sheeting around the ground level has been repaired and reinstalled following the winds that tore part of it away as seen on my previous video.
Despite the low clouds, fog and mist, this was a great first flight of the year and we got to see some indications of how busy production will be at the factory this year, particularly as new products are announced and begin production alongside the refreshed Model Y. I expect we will see much of this happen in the 1st quarter, so let’s go!
