Tesla Model X Refresh Road Trip 2,300 Miles to Giga Texas Part 2

I took our Refresh Tesla Model X on a long road trip to Giga Texas for 2023 Investors day. The event was amazing, but the road trip itself with the Refresh Model X was something I was really looking forward to.

I am no stranger to road trips, and I usually put 20k+ miles of road trips each year in our Model Y and Model 3. Having spent most of my road trip time behind the wheel of the Model Y, I was anxious to see what the experience would be like in the new Model X to compare the 2.

Many people who consider the Model Y are also considering the Model X. The Model X does have a lot to offer, which includes things like more space, faster charging, more range, and a more comfortable suspension. But, this all comes with a hearty price tag.

At 100k or more, the Refresh Model X is not an affordable EV. Spending that kind of money on a car has to bring some level of value to the owner. Road trips like this help the Model X shine with overall comfort and speed of travel with faster charging and longer range.

I would be lying if I said I didn’t really like the comfort of the refresh Model X on this trip. It was far superior and combined with the quieter ride, it really does make for an ideal road tripper.

At Giga Texas, I was able to attend investor day thanks to a subscriber that invited me as his plus 1. At the event, Tesla showcased some of their most exciting projects including the Cybertruck. Although Tesla did not allow people to get in or really that close to the Cybertruck, it was on display and was the first time I saw one in person.

What an amazing event and what an amazing road trip this was. Part 2 is the trip from Texas to Florida for the trip back home of 1,100 miles.
