With Tesla warning that the Federal Tax Credit is going to expire in 2024 in the amount of $7,500 (assuming you qualify; please check with your tax advisor), watch this video to learn what I am recommending. Keep in mind that the new Model 3 refresh is right around the corner. So it’s possible Tesla may lower their prices even further on existing Model 3 inventory in 2024 as they prep for a major upgrade rollout of the new Model 3. It’s also possible that Tesla’s guidance as to what cars are eligible in 2024 for the tax credits could change. Just look at what happened recently when they were guiding that the tax credit would most likely be cut in half. Now we are being told by Tesla the tax credits are going away entirely for the RWD and LR Model 3’s. While I guess I can understand why this is the case with the LFP battery pack which is made by a Chinese Company (I believe CATL and/or others), my understanding is that the LR Model 3 uses the same pack as what’s in the performance model 3 and the Y LR and Y Performance as well. (Panasonic 2170 cells not made in China) So why would the LR Model 3 lose the tax credit? Just not sure what to think on that one. One thing is for sure… With Tesla you just never know what the future will bring. But what we do know for sure at the time of this video being shot and for the res of 2023 is what’s on the table now from an economic and deal standpoint.. And the fact that in the State of CT, you can purchase a RWD Model 3 after all tax incentives (if you qualify) for under $30K is a smokin hot deal no matter what happens next year. Plus the RWD Model 3 is one terrific car in my opinion. Watch this video to learn more about why this just may be the best time ever to buy a brand new (non-refresh) existing Model 3…
