I want to talk about the future of electric vehicles and what will happen to Tesla and the EV industry in general now that Donald Trump won the US presidential election elections. There’s a lot of debate about whether or not the EV revolution is here to stay, and I think it’s a really interesting topic to discuss.
I think Trump isn’t going to do anything to curtail sales of Tesla cars electric vehicles in general. One of the reasons is that Elon Musk is his friend. Actually, Tesla and American electric vehicles makers will build what consumers want and purchase, and that provide profits for them. That’s how free markets work, unless government forces otherwise.
There is an opinion that EV revolution is here to stay whether US politicians support electric vehicles or no. "Gm, Ford, Stellantis, Rivian have never made a profit on an EV vehicle with huge government subsidies. It’s kind of silly to suspect they can without them or without the huge subsidies to EV charging infrastructure. Tesla is viable workout subsidies, but would have trouble thriving without carbon credits and well established, BYD could certainly be viable here… the rest of the industry? Ummm no," writes an EV enthusiast Tracy Cleeton
