We’ve covered the need for more accessible charging solutions for people who rent before – be it in single family or multi-family dwellings – and it’s fair to say that for the majority of people who rent, there aren’t any options to charge at home.
But Canadian firm RVE is trying to change that by making it easier for apartment complexes and condo owners to make their buildings ready for EV charging, wiring in wall outlets suitable for use with an EVSE that tie an individual’s parking space to their electrical meter.
At the same time, RVE’s technology makes it possible for local utilities to remotely start and stop charging sessions of customers’ cars without requiring the customer to spend a hefty chunk of change on a particular charging station.
And at Everything Electric in Vancouver earlier this month, Nikki caught up with the company’s founder and CEO David Corbeil to find out just how RVE’s trying to change EV charging for the better.
