In order to decarbonize our society, we need to not only decarbonize how we travel – but how goods travel too – and in a world where at-home deliveries have soared (along with their associated emissions) there’s no time to lose in decarbonizing last-mile deliveries.
Most people think of electric delivery vehicles like the custom delivery vehicle Rivian makes for Amazon, or any other number of all-electric mid-size panel vans around the world. But as we discovered at Fully Charged Live in Vancouver, BC, Canada this weekend, there’s an even better way to decarbonize last mile delivery: Cargo Bikes.
We chat to industry expert Sam Starr of Our Greenway Conservancy and Penguin Pickup to discover the benefits of Cargo bicycles and human-electric hybrids.
