Mazda said years ago they were moving up-market, yet they continue to push value as one of the main reasons to consider their CUVs and SUVs. Is that a flaw when the value portion of the equation impacts a core Mazda value like handling? The CX-50 is a solid example of this internal conflict. They finally gave it wider tires, but the lack of an independent rear suspension really prevents serious drivers from cross-shopping it with Acura or Lincoln.
