Tesla Model Y & 3 – Replace Air Filter to Fix Musk in Your Tesla

Every 1 to 2 years, you will need to replace your cabin air filter in your Tesla Model Y or Model 3. When Tesla designed the Model Y and 3, they didn’t do a great job preventing moisture from building up around the evaporator. That moisture gets trapped and over time causes an unpleasant smell.

The good news is that there is a fix, and the fix is so easy, anyone can do it. The process is exactly the same for both the Tesla Model Y and the Model 3, so this video will show you how to do this for both Tesla’s.

While replacing the air filter on your Tesla Model Y or Model 3, it’s a good idea to go ahead and clean the evaporator as well. This evaporator gets gunk buildup and needs to be cleaned from time to time. Instead of replacing your Tesla paper filter with another paper filter, consider upgrading to a HEPA filter, which will do a far superior job at reducing particulates that get into the car.

Whether you live in a high pollen environment, high dust or even experience wildfires, a HEPA filter will do a much better job keeping the air in your Tesla Model Y or Model 3 cleaner than with a paper filter alone.
