If a light comes on or flashes, but then goes off, this doesn’t necessarily indicate a malfunction in the system. However, if this continues to occur, have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer.

If a brake warning exclamation light comes on and it’s red color it indicates that the brake fluid level is low; or the brake system is malfunctioning. What should you do if the brake system is malfunctioning in your Toyota Corolla?

Toyota Corolla’s Owner’s Manual says "Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place and contact your Toyota dealer. Continuing to drive the vehicle may be dangerous.

If a brake warning exclamation light is yellow it indicates a malfunction in the parking brake system. This is the action you should take. Have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer immediately.

Toyota’s Owner’s Manual says that the red exclamation warning light is only for USA and Canada. It may be possible that other countries have other warning light system.
